Weather Continues To Slow Down Life In The County (Thursday, February 20, 2025)

Weather woes have continued to plague Barbour County as more snow fell on Wednesday night, and roads have turned icy, causing schools to already call 2-hour delay on Thursday.
Simultaneously, respiratory illnesses continue to spread around, causing some business to have limited hours, and events to be cancelled, on top of the bad weather. Statewide, there have been close to 4000 cases of Flu A reported, although the state website has not updated county numbers for two weeks now, so it is unknown how many of those cases are in Barbour County.
Barbour County man was arrested on a rape charge dating back to 2023. Anthony Ware, 35, of Belington is accused of raping a woman who was intoxicated in his apartment. He is currently in Tygarts Valley Regional Jail.
