The West Virginia University Extension Office visited Belington Elementary School last week with the “Farm to School” program. Students were excited to select fresh fruits and vegetables to take home.

Belington Elementary School October Students of the Month were recently honored at the October PTA meeting. The character theme of October’s Student of the Month was “Self-Direct: Think, Choose, Act.” Students got cinch sacks and a sign to display in their yard to commemorate their success.
The October Students of the Month are: Brooklynne Leggett, Jacelynn Moss, Brylee Arbogast, Blake Stevens, Aubree Whited, Roman Lawrence, Eden Herron, Aubrey Pharis, Daniel “Remington” Arbogast, Colin Gregory, Daelyn Campbell, Joeie Graham, Emily Howell, Arin Cleavenger, and Brynlee Allen.

On Tuesday, October 10, Philippi Elementary was visited by Mr. Mick Souter. He presented his amazing show titled, “Ring, Ring the Banjo, an evening of Stephen Foster.” The performance showcased the amazing works written by Stephen Foster. Mr. Souter won the hearts of the students while educating them on musical history. Students were treated to an interactive show that brought joy to all who participated.

Kristie Freeman, on behalf of the Sugar Creek United Methodist Church, delivered disinfectant wipes and tissues to the classrooms of Belington Elementary School. The staff and students showed the appreciation for their care and generosity.

Students had an unique seasonal breakfast today throughout Barbour County Schools. Students were served a Pumpkin Patch Bento Box consisting of fresh apple slices and carrot sticks to be dipped in pumpkin dip, along with a trail mix of sunflower seeds and dried cranberries.
