Strutters Won Several Awards At The State Championship

The Strutters Baton and Dance Team traveled on June 8 to Lewis County High School, where they competed at the Drum Majorettes of America West Virginia State Twirling Championships.

The team competed in different events and won First Places in Large Jr. Dance Twirling Team, Large Jr. Pom Line, and Juvenile Small Dance Twirl Team.

In individual awards, Marlayna Bennett won First Place titles as Miss West Virginia Pom girl ages 12-14, Miss West Virginia Solid Dancer, and Miss West Virginia Show twirler. Ali Cunningham won First Place title as Miss West Virginia Show twirler in age category 16-18 years of age. The Strutters will be traveling to Nationals in Aiken, South Carolina on July 12 and will be competing for the National Championship at University of South Carolina.
