Sammy Martz Convicted

A plea and sentencing hearing was held in the Circuit Court of Barbour County on January 24, 2024 before the Honorable Shawn D. Nines. Andrew Lynn Phillips, Prosecuting Attorney, appeared on behalf of the State. The defendant, Sammy Martz, appeared in person and by his counsel, Michael Safcsak.

The defendant entered a guilty plea to the offense of Malicious Assault. The defendant waived a presentence investigation. The defendant was sentenced to a term of not less than two nor more than 10 years in the West Virginia Penitentiary.
