Rotary Club Makes Donation To Broaddus Hospital

By Marija Ilic

Barbour County chapter of Rotary Club, alongside Grafton chapter, presented Jared Boxes for children at Broaddus Hospital. Jared Boxes is a non-profit organization aimed to bringing boxes of activity games and toys for children while they are navigating hospital stay. According to their website, “Jared McMullen was diagnosed with an incurable brainstem tumor in 1999. He carried a backpack full of toys and games to all appointments and questioned why the other children didn’t bring toys to their exam rooms. Jared shared his toys and invited the other children to join him in a game of UNO. At just 5 years old, he demonstrated faith, wisdom and compassion for others.”

Barbour County Rotary Club members who visited Broaddus Hospital and delivered boxes were: Hunter Mullens, Brian Matko, Ed Larry, Ed Westfall, Julie Spriggs, Sam McDaniel, JoLynn Powers, and Jenn Whetzel.
