Queen Silvia LXXXV Visits Belington Elementary

Students at Belington Elementary were recently visited by royalty when Queen Silvia LXXXV, Anna Ruf, visited during Kim’s Fun Field Day.

Anna, who is currently serving as Queen Silvia LXXXV of the Mountain State Forest Festival, is a resident of Belington and a former student of Belington Elementary School. Queen Silvia gave a presentation to each class and talked about the history of the Mountain State Forest Festival, all the details of her gown, and what it was like to reign over the festival. She donated the book, "The Mystery and Magic of Trees" by Jen Green, as well as an autographed program to the school library. Students were given the opportunity to ask questions and meet with the Queen.

Anna is a teacher and is currently teaching 8th grade Math at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School. She said she enjoyed her day interacting with the “little ones” and hopes she made a positive impression upon them.
