Recognized were also Marshall university, Coalfield Development, the Barbour County Commission, Bright Futures Barbour County, and the Peoples Chapel church for support that helped the program succeed. Six different summer activities were supported by the group for youth across the county. Special recognition went to Sam Christie, the youth director and prevention leader with Bright Futures. Sam noted how helpful he feels to provide young people the opportunity to work together and give back to the community they live in. Ms. Elizabeth Dalton, an alumni of the program, also served with Sam as the female leader for the summer. Elizabeth is currently enrolled at Appalachian Bible College and is studying Elementary Education.
