Philippi Man Faces Terrorism Charges After Threatening Calls

On the final night of 2023, the Philippi Police Department encountered a disturbing situation that led to the arrest of Orlandis Fredrick Funderburke, 37, of Philippi. The incident unfolded as Funderburke made threatening calls Barbour County 911 Center, stating that he was going to kill both Philippi Police Department and Barbour County 911 Center employees unless “he gets the child back,” according to the criminal complaint.


Upon arrival at the scene, officers engaged with Funderburke, who persisted in making threats against the Philippi Police Department and Barbour County 911 Center employees.


Following the arrest, Funderburke now faces charges of Terrorist Threats.

Funderburke is currently at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
