Philippi Lions Club Conducts Vision Screening

Pictured: Debbie Williams, Millard Minor, Miriam Rice, Jud Bracey, and Elaine Benson

Philippi Lions Club members conducted vision screening at Philippi Elementary School on May 3 and finished up on May 21. Members photographed a total of 212 students, with 34 referrals. Members used the Spot Vision Screener, which accurately detects the potential indication of common vision problems, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, Astigmatism, unequal refractive power, eye misalignment, and unequal pupil size. Early detection of vision problems will produce the best results in corrective measures. If Spot indicates a problem, a complete eye examination is recommended.

Members working were: Elaine Benson, Jud Bracey, Nancy McLean, Millard Minor, Valerie Minor, Miriam Rice, and Debbie Williams.
