Philippi Fire Department Responds To Call On Church Street

On Saturday, December 30, around noon, the Philippi Fire Department responded to a call on Church Street. Concerns arose when spectators at the Philippi City Gym noticed what appeared to be smoke emanating from the direction of Philippi Baptist Church, prompting the immediate call for assistance.

Upon arrival, the firefighters discovered that what was initially perceived as smoke was, in fact, steam escaping from the church's boiler room.

The Philippi Fire Department wasted no time in deploying resources to the scene, ensuring a rapid and organized response. Firefighters quickly assessed the situation, prioritizing the safety of the church and surrounding buildings. The decisive actions of the emergency responders prevented any potential escalation of the incident.

Even though, there was no immediate danger, the incident underscores the significance of community members staying vigilant and reporting any suspicious activities promptly.
