Philip Barbour Baseball To Play For State Championship

For the first time in school history, Philip Barbour baseball team will compete for the state championship after defeating Logan High School in semifinal on Friday night in Charleston. They will be playing on Saturday at Noon.
Local police department answered the call Thursday night about shooting, and encountered the victim with serious injuries to the face. They apprehended the suspect shortly after in downtown Philippi. The details are still kept under wraps as investigation is ongoing. We will keep you updated about this case.
Philippi Lions Club will be hosting Hot Dog Lunch on Monday, June 9 at the Gazebo. Grab two hot dogs, chips, dessert, and drink for only $10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (or until it is sold out).
Annual Blue and Gray car show that was planned for this Sunday is canceled due to impending rain storms. The show will be rescheduled for the later date in the summer, and the new date should be announced soon.

Philippi City pool is now open for the season. The admission is $5 and the hours are Monday/Wednesday 2-8 p.m., Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday 12-5 p.m., and Sunday 1-6 p.m.
