PBHS Hall Of Fame Class Announced


The Philip Barbour Hall of Fame Committee would like to announce that the Class 2024 newest inductees.



Ronald Harsh is a 1964 graduate of Philip Barbour High School and notable coach/ teacher at P.B. His tenure was well known with the PB Girls’ Basketball teams in 1980-1984, when he put the girls’ basketball team on the map with very successful teams. Ron was also an assistant football coach in the 80s and 90s. He was also a Physical Education Instructor for the Barbour County BOE. He and his wife reside in Belington.




Leroy Jackson is a 1965 graduate of Philip Barbour High School and was well known for his athletic excellence while at PB. He was the first All-State Football player in Philip Barbour High School history and was also an All-American football player while at PB (the first and only). He participated in track and wrestling while at Philip Barbour. Leroy was married in 1971 and moved to New York where they had two sons, before passing away in 2004.




1975 Philip Barbour Baseball team was a mixture of sophomores, juniors, and senior athletes, and were coached by Coach Rhinehart and Coach Wagner. They were the first and only baseball team to ever make it to the State Baseball Tournament in PB history.




Katie Yount Mullens is a 1990 graduate of Philip Barbour High school. She has many life achievements during her high school/ life career. Her academic excellence were superior while she ranked high in her class maintaining a 4.0 GPA while at PB. She also participated in the girls’ basketball program while at PB and was part of the National Honor Society. Katie is currently practicing law in Philippi and surrounding counties with her firm Mullens and Mullens alongside her husband.



The induction ceremony will be held on Thursday, August 29, in the commons of Philip Barbour High School from 6- 8 p.m. Then on August 30, between the first and second quarter of the Philip Barbour season opener football game against the Grafton Bearcats, they will be honored again in front of the crowd. If you would like to join the festivities, you are welcome to both.
