PBHS Class Of 1970 Hosted Mad Hatter Event II

The PBHS Class of 1970 set the standard for nonchalant elegance in Wonderland and debuted the authentic 70 Colt Collection for Spring-Summer fantastical headwear, from fedoras to fascinators, at the Mad Hatter Event II on Friday, April 19. A total of 24 classmates and guests abandoned logic from 1-3 p.m. in the Banquet Room of the Medallion Restaurant.

Registrars Brenda Smith and Gloria Smith welcomed everyone down the rabbit hole, then tagged and ticketed them for door prizes. They also signed a letter to be sent to 23 classmates unable to attend.

Coordinator Pam Hamilton thanked the class at large for their continuing generosity. She recognized Debbie Frame, Betty Lombardo, Teresa Maxwell, Billie Sue Mitchell, Brenda Smith, and Gloria Smith for their consistent support of class experiences. She introduced special guest Debbie Kurucz Haddix, a member of PB Class of 1971 and a sister to Andy Kurucz, Jr., our late classmate and Army veteran.

The buffet included BBQ chicken, fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots, green beans, garden salad, rolls, and beverages. Classmates donated the delectable Dessert Station. Betty Lombardo created the whimsical centerpieces that doubled as door prizes. Larry Kines gave the invocation.

Gary Schoonover gave an update on the Belington VFW Post 410 Flagpole Memorial at the PB sports complex. The class purchased two personalized bricks for members who served in Vietnam. He will inform us when these bricks have been inscribed.

On Friday, July 19, from 1-3 p.m. the class will return to the Medallion for Surf’s Up II, the indoor beach party.

The 55th class reunion will be held in July 2025. Please join the idea exchange on the class page to help develop plans and update addresses.

Pam Hamilton shared pastel swag bags and encouraged the influencers to be beautiful, cheerful, productive, joyful, steady, and sweet.

Becky Fletcher conducted the drawing for memorable door prizes donated by classmates.

Marija Ilic received accolades for her tireless efforts to create the best value menu. The group posed for historic photos.
