PBHS Class Of 1970 Honors Veterans

Veterans Day is November 11, a day to thank all military veterans for their service. The PBHS Class of 1970 honors 21 classmates for their sacrifices while serving in the armed forces during the Vietnam Era.

Army Sgt. John A. Charnoplosky, Aircraft Maintenance Crewman, 1st Aviation Brigade, 187th Aviation Company, died in Tay Ninh Province. He is listed on Panel 2W, Line 67 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. On May 17, 2014, the Audra Park Bridge was renamed in his honor.

The total of 12 living veterans are celebrated: Bobbe Getschman and Brooks Payne, Air Force; Stan Daugherty, Billy R. Davis, Philip Everson, Walter Freeman, Larry Michael Humphreys, Roland Jones, Gregory Quagliotti, Ben Stout, and Gary Wentz, Army; and Steven Honce, Navy.

Nine deceased veterans are remembered: Perry Weaver, Jr., Air Force; John Charnoplosky, Larry Halstead, Andy Kurucz, Jr., Robert Louk, Jimmie Mayle, and Ray Snider, Army; Eddie Shingleton, Navy; and Ronald Farley, Marines.
