PBHS Class Of 1970 Celebrates Ugly Christmas Sweater Event III



The PBHS Class of 1970 held its festive Ugly Christmas Sweater Event III t o celebrate tastefully tacky holiday fashion on Friday, Dec. 15, from 1 - 3 p.m. in the Banquet Room of the Medallion Restaurant. A total of 31 glitzy classmates and spouses joyfully feasted on a fried chicken buffet.


Classmates donated the delectable dessert station and memorable door prizes. Betty Lombardo donated live poinsettias for tablescapes that doubled as door prizes. Registrars Gloria Smith and Debbie Frame welcomed, tagged, and ticketed guests. Coordinator Pam Hamilton thanked the class at large for their continuing generosity. She recognized Debbie Frame, Betty Lombardo, Teresa Maxwell, Billie Sue Mitchell, Brenda Smith, and Gloria Smith for their consistent support of class experiences.


Gary Price observed a moment of silence for recently deceased classmates and gave the invocation. Guests signed 13 cards for Betty Lombardo to mail to classmates unable to attend. Pam Hamilton shared Christmas swag bags and encouraged the influencers to stay steadfast like an evergreen; sparkle like an ornament; sow kindness; stay sweet; and be the GIFT - Give It Forward Today.


Rita Gum, a Quilts of Valor seamstress, awarded a handmade quilt to U.S. Army Veteran David E. Mitchell in appreciation for his service in Vietnam. David is a 1965 graduate of Bridgeport High School. David s wife, Billie Sue Nestor Mitchell, and Rita are members of the PB Class of 1970.


The idea exchange resulted in two class events for 2024. Barbara Godwin will plan a PBHS boys varsity basketball Hoops at Home Event II. The Spring Fling Event II luncheon will be on Friday, April 19, from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Medallion Restaurant.

Debbie Frame drew tickets for door prizes. Marija Ilic was recognized for her tireless efforts to always provide the best value menu. The event ended with photos for posterity.
