Old Fashioned Days Car Show A Success

90 year old Patty Weese of Belington won the Sponsor’s Choice Trophy for her entirely original 1965 Buick Skylark Gran Sport.

Great crowd and lots of fun for the Barbour County GOP Car Show at Belington Old Fashioned Days.

The Belington Old Fashioned Days Car Show was a huge success this year. Sponsored by the Barbour County Republican Party, 75 cars were entered ranging from classic and vintage oldies to hot rods to modern sports cars. Trophies were given for Best of Show, People’s Choice, Farthest Traveled, Sponsor’s Choice, Mayor’s Choice, and Top Ten. Many visitors to the Old Fashioned Days Festival enjoyed seeing the variety of vehicles. The car registrants all had a good time socializing with each other, and many local old-timers got to catch up with each other while appreciating each other’s cars. Music was provided by DJ Ziggy Hall of Philippi and The Lunchbox Food Truck from Elkins offered great food options. Special acknowledgement went to Roger Bolton and the Bolton Family for use of the Town & Country Bolton Motors lot, as well as Belington NAPA for donations for door prizes. Additional door prizes and special goodie bags for the car owners were provided by Chair, Lisa Weese. A GOP 50-50 drawing was conducted by volunteers Annie Ferguson and Mimi Ferguson. Delegate Chris Phillips, Committee Members Renee Howdershelt, Bill Guthrie and wife Sharon, and Pennie Roueche also volunteered to make the day a success. Photos of all the trophy winners can be found on the Barbour County WV Republican Party Facebook page.
