No Burning Law In Effect (Wednesday, March 19, 2025)

Barbour County Office of Emergency Management is once again reminding people to remember that No Burning Law is still in effect. Earlier this week, local fire departments had to fight two separate brush fires - one on Rt 57 and one on Rt 92. Please be mindful as arid conditions and high winds are making perfect combination for quick spread of wildfires.
Teter Creek Lake Neighborhood Watch will be hosting a spring dance for elementary and middle school aged children at Battlers Knob on March 25, 2025, from 6-9 p.m. All proceeds will go toward TCLNW.
Also on Saturday: movie at Philippi library ("Garfield") at 10:30 a.m., fundraising dinner at Crim UMC from Noon until it is sold out, and Byron Cooper DJ and Dance from 8 p.m. till midnight at E3 Music and Art Venue in Belington.
Philip Barbour FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) had an outstanding showing at State competition, with seven first place wins, and total of 10 students qualifying for National Competition that will be held this summer in Anaheim, California.
Reminder that both Philippi and Belington Heart and Hand stores are closed all week for spring cleaning, and will reopen Monday, March 24.

Annual PBHS Band Spaghetti Dinner will be on Sunday, April 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the high school commons.
Free skating at Skatezone is on Monday, March 31, from 6-8 p.m. and is sponsored by Sugar Creek Church.
