On Monday, April 22, Next Step Summit will take place at the New Vision Epicenter on Chestnut Ridge. This groundbreaking event promises to chart a course toward brighter futures for those who have aged out of foster care, with a focus on comprehensive support and empowerment.
Jeffrey Pack is slated to be the keynote speaker. Pack, from the WV Department of Health Bureau for Social Services, brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for positive change to the forefront.
The spotlight of the summit falls squarely on New Vision, an organization committed to nurturing and guiding young adults as they navigate the challenging transition from foster care to independent adulthood. Recent developments have catapulted New Vision into the spotlight, as they proudly announce the receipt of a significant grant poised to catalyze their ambitious vision.
This grant represents more than just financial support; it symbolizes hope, opportunity, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow for those often overlooked by society. With this funding, New Vision is primed to embark on the construction of a transformative initiative: the Village.
The Village is a visionary project designed to provide a lifeline for young people aging out of the foster care system, offering not just housing, but a comprehensive array of services aimed at fostering independence and well-being. From job training to medical and mental health support, the Village will empower its residents to flourish as they step into adulthood.
The Next Step Summit serves as the launching pad for this remarkable endeavor, bringing together stakeholders, advocates, and community leaders to rally behind a common cause. From 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., attendees will immerse themselves in dialogue, collaboration, and inspiration as they lay the groundwork for a brighter future for youth in need.
