The Philippi Lions Club presented the Leonard Jarrett Award to Jud Bracey and Elaine Benson at their meeting on June 18. Sabrina Ward, incoming President, and member of the awards committee presented the Lions with their awards.

Both Jud and Elaine have been members of the Philippi Lions Club for eight years and have held various positions in the club. President Tina Mouser stated, “Lions Elaine and Jud are great assets to our club and to our community. They regularly participate in projects to make our community a better place. They are both very deserving of these awards.”

Lion Leonard Jarrett is recognized by Lions of West Virginia as founder of West Virginia Sight Conservation Foundation. In 1984 the Foundation established The Leonard Jarrett Award. This award is the highest honor given by the West Virginia Lions Sight Conservation Foundation.
