Leer South S.T.E.A.M. Expo “Water Conservation”

Arch Resources, Leer South Mining Complex hosted its Second Annual S.T.E.A.M. Expo on November 10, 2023 at the Leer South Mine Office. Barbour County fifth graders were invited to participate by presenting a project representative of this year’s theme, “Water Conservation.” The top five projects from each school competed for the Grand Champion prize along with a traveling trophy awarded to the winning school.

Additionally, an artwork competition was integrated into this year’s event. All Barbour County middle school students were challenged to create a promotional banner to advertise the event and highlight water conservation efforts. Leer South is honored to have this opportunity to work together with our community to promote S.T.E.A.M. education.
