JES Presented With New Flag

On Tuesday, September 24, Junior Lions Club and the American Legion came to Junior Elementary School to present the school with a new American Flag. Members from both groups spoke about what flag means. They performed a retirement ceremony of the old flag. The American Legion will perform a ceremony on Flag Day in June to retire the old flag by disposing of it properly. As the old flag was folded, it was explained to the students and staff what each fold means and represents.

Junior Elementary students enjoyed the ceremony. Junior Elementary would like to extend their appreciation to the members of the Junior Lions Club for donating the new flag for the students, staff, and parents to enjoy. Junior Elementary would also like to acknowledge the members of American Legion for performing the ceremony and educating our students.
