Freezing Temperatures Ahead (Wednesday, January 22, 2025)

• Weather is just not taking it easy on us. Icy roads and below zero temperatures caused number of businesses to close early or altogether on Tuesday, although it appears that Wednesday will bring much needed relief to small businesses around the county.

  
  

• City of Philippi canceled their Tuesday night meeting. We will report more once they resume their meetings in February.

  
  

• Schools will have non-instructional day Wednesday, and Here and There Transit will operate on limited availability. There will be no meals at either of the Senior Center sites, and meals on wheels will not operate either.

  
  

• If you are looking to get out this week, check out Molly's open mic Wednesday, square dancing at 17 North on Thursday, or Ziggy Hall at Margarita's on Saturday.

  
  

• If you are in need of workout, Zumba Strong with Alissa Tanner is on every Tuesday and Wednesday upstairs at Belington City Hall at 5:30 p.m. If you are looking for weight workout, both Belington Wellness Center and Project Reform gym are offering memberships!

  
  

• Bless This Food pantry is looking for volunteers to help them unload the truck on Friday. Please contact their Facebook page to see how you can help.

  
  

• City of Philippi had limited garbage pickup on Tuesday, and City is asking residents whose garbage did not get picked up to leave it out for Wednesday pickup.
