Snow has stopped, but ahead of us are freezing temperatures that are making hard for salt to melt on the roads. City of Philippi and Public Service District are reminding people to let water drip in their faucets to prevent pipes from bursting.
In case of a need for warming shelters, Barbour County OEM will keep people informed of the locations. For questions, you may call their non-emergency number at 304-457-5167.
Schools are closed on Tuesday, and Barbour County Senior Center and Here and There Transit will also not operate. Barbour County Family Support Center announced Tuesday closure, as well. Aqua Zumba class at Belington Wellness center is also cancelled. For local businesses, please call or check their Facebook pages for most up-to-date information.
This week, Molly's will be holding open mic night on Wednesday at 7 p.m., 17 North Event Center will have square dancing on Thursday at 6 p.m., while Margarita's will host John Ziggy Hall on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Save the date:
Tri-State Women of Service pageant, February 22 at Battlers Knob.
Anthony Mossburg concert, March 29 at Battlers Knob
Belington Easter Egg Hunt, April 12, Belington City Park
We are still looking for businesses to advertise for free in our weekly coupon book that will be coming out this Thursday! Email us at thebarbourbuzz@gmail.com, or call/text 304-476-0016.
