Former High School Star David Shriver Shines In Recent Games With Austin Spurs

David Shriver, a former standout from Philip Barbour High School, is making the best of his opportunities in the NBA G League. In the last three games, the rising star has been averaging six points per game in just over 10 minutes of play.

Shriver's journey to the professional league took a major leap earlier this fall when he was drafted in the first round by the Austin Spurs, the NBA G League affiliate of the San Antonio Spurs. The talented player had previously made a name for himself last year when he played a pivotal role in helping Virginia Commonwealth secure both regular season and tournament championships, catapulting them into the NCAA March Madness spotlight.

One of the standout moments in Shriver's recent stint with the Austin Spurs came during a closely contested match against the #1 team, the Birmingham Squadron. Shriver showcased his skills with crucial plays that contributed to the team's victory in what turned out to be a nail-biting encounter.

The Austin Spurs, currently on a two-game tour in Mexico City, are set to return to the United States after completing their international stint. Fans eager to catch Shriver's performances can tune in for free on the NBA G League App. Additionally, select games are being broadcasted on the family of ESPN Channels and the Tubi app, providing a broader audience the opportunity to witness the rising star in action.
