Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) have written and illustrated a children’s storybook. The title of the book is “My Family Tree” and is about a foster boy named Toby who must do a report on his family tree which he doesn’t have. The story was written by senior Taylor Skidmore and illustrated by junior Amber McGill and junior Sierra Croston.
FBLA members are selling copies of the book with all proceeds going to KVC, a private nonprofit organization that provides an array of services to promote child welfare. Members have worked together to promote this book and proceeds as their yearly community service project. FBLA members and officers Gavin Knotts, Grant Schola, and Taylor Skidmore presented an overview of the project at FBLA West Virginia leadership conference and placed third qualifying them for national competition.
Copies of the book can be purchased at Philip Barbour Career Technical Center during school hours.
Members of FBLA are currently working on this project, raising funds to attend national conference, and working to improve their projects and test knowledge. If anyone has questions about PBHS FBLA and the project, please contact Heather Bowen at hbowen@bcwv.us or Denise Losh at dnstalna@bcwv.us.
