Development Authority Receives Community Grant

The Barbour County Community Foundation is pleased to announce the awarding of a Community Grant to the Barbour County Development Authority. The $3800 grant will be utilized in the funding of two separate projects. Part of the grant will go toward the purchase of a new computer with flat screen and stand for use by the Development Authority. The grant will also help with funding of the Authority's "Jump Start' loan program which helps young entrepreneurs in Barbour County with business start-up expenses.


Cheryl Wolfe, Executive Director of the Barbour County Development Authority stated, "The grant from the BCCF will help us replace aging equipment and add equipment we need to keep up with today's technology. There are also funds to expand our Jump Start loan program for downtown businesses. We are so grateful for this help that we would not otherwise been able to receive."


The Barbour County Community Foundation is a local philanthropic organization that works to build a better life for the citizens of Barbour County in work, play, and retirement.
