City Of Philippi Secures WV DOH Transportation Alternative Grant

City of Philippi has secured a $60,000 WV DOH Transportation Alternative grant to redesign sidewalks and streetscape along Main Street from Sheetz to the Garden Market. The project will unfold in four steps: phase one design, phase one construction, phase two design, and phase two construction. This grant covers the design of phase one.

City Manager Jeremy Drennen emphasized, "Having engineered designs is crucial for submitting construction applications. This grant enhances our competitiveness for future construction endeavors."

The Transportation Alternative grant program operates annually, and the City aims to submit a construction grant for phase one this year, followed by a design grant for phase two next year. The City of Philippi extends gratitude to WV DOH and Region VII Planning and Development Council for their support in moving Philippi forward!
