City Of Philippi Deals With Water Line Break

Around 3 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, Main Street Philippi experienced yet another water line break - this time in front of The Yarn Basket and Mullens & Mullens law offices.

The water pressure from the break heavily damaged the road, which in some parts rose above the sidewalk. Local businesses in the immediate area suffered some damage as the water entered the establishments.

As of 4:30 p.m., there is still not any updates about estimated time of restoration, and we will keep you updated.

Around the same time that the water engulfed Main Street, the word is that allegedly the transfer truck City of Philippi uses to transport garbage was in an accident near I-79 exit while on its way to the site. Below is the image captured earlier this afternoon. There are no details about the condition of the driver or the truck at this time.
