City Of Belington To Appoint Interim Mayor

City of Belington has announced that they will be appointing an Interim Mayor at the next Belington City Council meeting on May 2, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. Anyone interested in the position should attend the meeting and address the Council.

The decision to appoint an Interim Mayor was made after current Mayor, Cherri Sturm, has announced her resignation, effective on May 2, 2024. Sturm, a lifelong resident of Belington will continue to be involved with the community, but has chosen to devote more time to her new endeavor as the owner of Battler Knob – a former Alderson Broaddus University campus. Throughout her time as mayor, Sturm has been instrumental in developing several new events, including Old Fashioned Days and Sweet Treats festival. She will now bring her talents to City of Philippi as well, as she works to develop newly acquired property on top of the hill.
