CEOS Winter Fair This Weekend (Friday, March 14, 2025)


  • Battlers Knob will be the host of this year's CEOS Winter Fair, which will be held Friday, March 14, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, March 15, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Enjoy homemade lunch, baked goodies, entertainment, vendors, and there will even be a class on succulents that will be taught by Jody Carpenter, WVU Extension officer.


  • New thrift store is now open in Belington, and is located across Industrial Park Rd, next to Moore's Bakery. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.


  • PB boys' basketball team fell in regional final, losing to Ritchie County in overtime 48-40.


  • Barbour County Sheriff's Department has investigated a threat to "middle school" that was going around on the Snapchat. Even though it was determined that the threat was made in another county, they will still have increased presence of law enforcement in the schools on Friday.


  • If you are interested in joining Philippi Volunteer Fire Department - just send them a message on Facebook to get an application. Department is always looking for more volunteer members.


  • Barbour County Family Support Center is holding clothing giveaway on March 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They are located at Golden Rule building.


  • Residents of Philippi are once again on boil water advisory through Saturday evening, due to another water leak on Main Street on Thursday. Residents were without water for almost 8 hours, and the damage was again with the same water line between Peoples Bank and AMO building.


  • Daddy T's Smoking BBQ will be at BC Bank parking lot on Monday, March 17, from 11 a.m. until they sell out.


  • Cody Luterek, an employee of the City of Philippi, received an AMP Hard Hat Safety Award! This award exemplifies a person who is committed to on-the-job safety procedures.
