Cases Heard Before The Honorable Judge Thomas B. Hoxie



Hearings were held before the Circuit Court of Barbour County on October 15, 2024, where the Honorable Judge Thomas B. Hoxie, Circuit Judge of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit heard the cases listed below. Prosecuting Attorney Andrew Lynn Phillips appeared before the Court to present the following criminal cases:


Matilda Ann Barr – appeared and pled guilty to one count of Fraudulent Use of an Unauthorized Access Device. The defendant was sentenced to a term of four years in the West Virginia Penitentiary. The defendant was informed of her ability to file a Motion for the Court to consider other sentencing options. The defendant was represented by her attorney, John Funkhouser.


Jeffrey Lynn Morris – appeared and pled guilty to one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver (Methamphetamine). The defendant was sentenced to a term of not less than one nor more than 15 years in the West Virginia Penitentiary. Said sentence was to be served concurrently with the defendant’s sentence in Taylor County. The defendant was represented by his attorney, John Funkhouser.
