Hearings were held before the Circuit Court of Barbour County on March 20, 2024 where the Honorable Judge Thomas B. Hoxie, Circuit Judge of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit heard the following cases listed below. Prosecuting Attorney Andrew Lynn Phillips appeared before the Court to present the following criminal cases:
Ashley Deanna McMannis previously pled guilty to one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine. A presentence investigation was completed. The defendant was sentenced to a term of not less than one nor more than 15 years in the West Virginia Penitentiary. The defendant was informed of her ability to file a motion for the Court to consider other sentencing options. The defendant was represented by her attorney, Michael Safcsak.
Hunter Shahan appeared and plead guilty to one count of Fleeing in a Vehicle in a Manner Showing a Reckless Indifference to the Safety of Others. The defendant has pending charges in Tucker County, and sentencing was deferred pending resolution of those charges. The defendant was represented by his attorney, John Funkhouser.
