Belington Resident Arrested After Confrontation With Recovery Agents

Jason Westwood Lego, a 43-year-old resident of Belington, is facing serious charges, including wanton endangerment and cultivation of marijuana, following a tense incident on January 2 at his residence. The situation unfolded when two employees from B's Recovery Service attempted to repossess a Ford van, leading to a confrontation.

Lego emerged from his residence and discharged a firearm in the direction of the recovery agents, prompting immediate concern for the safety of those involved. No injuries were reported, but the discharge of a firearm led to the arrest of Lego on two counts of wanton endangerment.

Upon the arrival of West Virginia State Police officers, a thorough investigation was conducted. Interviews were carried out with another occupant of the house and the two employees of B's Recovery Service who were present during the altercation. Subsequent to the interviews, a search of Lego's residence revealed an unexpected find – four five-gallon buckets containing marijuana plants.

The discovery resulted in an additional charge for Lego - cultivation of marijuana.

Lego, displaying cooperation with authorities, surrendered himself willfully later on the same day. Currently incarcerated at Tygart Valley Regional Jail, he awaits legal proceedings for the charges brought against him.
