Belington Library Holds Summer Reading Program

The Belington Public Library is delighted to announce the successful completion of their summer reading program, which took place over the months of June and July.

The library extends its heartfelt appreciation to the following individuals and organizations for their invaluable contributions: Hannah from the Oglebay Zoo, Smokey the Bear and the U.S. Forest Service, Barb Wolf from the WVU Extension Office, Tony Edwards from the National Weather Service, Alan Coberly, who presented a safety program from Sesame Street, Manami Kawazoe, who spoke about her native home Japan, Donna Phillips, who read to the children from a selection of children's books, and Beth Henry-Vance, Department of Environmental Protection.

Additionally, the library is grateful to the Board of Directors and the Barbour County Community Foundation for their grant, which made this program possible. A special acknowledgment goes to Heart and Hand Ministries for providing lunch each day.

Over the four-week period, 25 kids attended the summer reading program, and they had various craft projects which they enjoyed. The Belington Public Library looks forward to hosting this event again next year and extends gratitude to all who assisted who are not listed, and the children who attended.
