BCHA Hosts Speakers From Centers Against Violence

On Thursday, February 22, 2024, Barbour Community Health Association's (BCHA) behavioral health team hosted a pivotal event shedding light on stalking, human trafficking, sexual assault, and domestic violence. Esteemed guest speakers from Centers Against Violence delivered crucial insights, emphasizing the seriousness of stalking as a crime and the necessity of taking threats seriously.

Attendees received practical advice on staying safe and accessing support services, with a focus on breaking down barriers like transportation and legal assistance. Kristy Kline, Barbour County Outreach Coordinator, underscored the need for increased awareness, stating, "Stalking is still not on everyone’s radar as it should be." BCHA reaffirms its commitment to supporting victims and providing resources for those affected by these forms of violence.
