Barbour County Student At YLA Youth Opportunity Camp

Children ages 7-12 from throughout West Virginia experienced the great outdoors of the Monongahela National Forest at YLA’s Youth Opportunity Camp at Camp Horseshoe in Parsons, WV. Ashton Sinsel of Barbour County attended the second week of this year’s camp from July 7-13, 2024.

Throughout the week, campers “learn to build confidence, self-control, set goals, promote physical and mental activity, good nutrition, school success, positive choices, and healthy living all while having fun interacting with caring mentors,” according to ylaleads.org.

Ohio-West Virginia Youth Leadership Association (YLA) is a not-for-profit focused on youth civic leadership development.
