Barbour County Schools Secure $1.6 Million Funding For Philippi Elementary School Roof Repair

In a significant development for Barbour County Schools, the School Building Authority has granted $1.6 million in emergency need funding to address critical repairs to the roof of Philippi Elementary School. The funding comes as a relief to the school community, with Barbour County Superintendent Eddie Vincent expressing gratitude for the timely assistance.

The emergency need funding was secured after an extensive and meticulous process, highlighting the severity of the situation at Philippi Elementary School. The deteriorating roof had become a cause for concern, and the School Building Authority recognized the urgency in providing the necessary financial support.

"We are fortunate to be granted funding," said Barbour County Superintendent Eddie Vincent.

Vincent added, "This funding is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff. The deteriorating roof posed a significant threat, and we are grateful for the support we have received."

The funds are earmarked for a comprehensive repair project that aims to not only fix the existing issues but also enhance the overall structural integrity of Philippi Elementary School. The goal is to initiate the repairs over the summer to minimize disruption to the academic calendar and have the project completed before the start of the next school year.

In the coming months, Barbour County Schools will work closely with contractors and construction teams to implement the necessary repairs efficiently.
