Barbour County Chamber Gives Special Award

The Barbour County Chamber’s Special Award is presented to persons and/or organizations who have not been recognized through the regular awards program.

The 2023 Board of Directors Special Award was presented at the Chamber banquet to 17 North Event Center. Accepting the award for 17 North was Jodee Nelson.

Jodee Nelson of 17 North has been Philippi’s version of the energizer bunny for the last 12 months or so. She has reinvigorated the entertainment scene on main street in Philippi with a variety of bands from North Central West Virginia. She has also reintroduced square dancing, trivia, bingo, and a several jam sessions for music lovers, young and old.

17 North Event Center is a unique and fun space that provides 6000 Square feet of space. It features a spacious main room accommodating up to 300 people (125 seated), a stage with lighting, and a variety of seating options including high top and dining tables with chairs—all the basics that you need to host a memorable event.
