2024 Miss Barbour County Fair Queen Contestants




Contestant Lindsey Weese is 16 year old daughter of Christy Weese & Matt Weese of the Mount Liberty Road. The 5'8”, blue eyed, blonde is a Junior at Philip Barbour High school. She is presently on Principal's honor roll, with a GPA 4.125. She is the President of the class of 2026 and a Student council representative.


In addition to her student involvement, she is a Twirler for the "Pride of Barbour County " band and a member of the tennis team.


Her Community Involvement includes working at the Laurel Mountain Inn, and volunteering at BMS for activities such as field day and the walk-a-thon.

Lindsey’s Hobbies include her love of hanging out with her dogs, spending time with family, playing my saxophone, twirling, reading, singing, getting ready, and overall just hanging out with my friends.


Three words to describe her are passionate, kind-hearted, and empathetic.

Upon graduation her plans are to attend a four-year college to become a nurse.

Her favorite thing about Barbour County is its beautiful nature. There are so many scenic spots to explore, like the Tygart Valley River, and the stunning countryside. “Barbour county is overall just a great place to enjoy the peaceful outdoors,” Weese says.


She continues, “I believe I should be the next Miss Barbour County because I believe I am a perfect candidate for this position because it will be a great opportunity for me to make new friends and become more active in my local community.”

Alanna Howdershelt is the 17-year-old daughter of Bradley and Desiree Howdershelt of Valley Furnace. She stands at 5'2", has blonde hair, and blue eyes. She describes herself as compassionate, dependable, and inquisitive.


Alanna attends New Life Family Worship Center, where she is a member of the praise team and a sound technician. She also frequently leads worship for their children's church program, Ignite Kids. Alanna serves as the youth representative for the Barbour County Bright Futures Coalition, as well.


Alanna's hobbies include karate, basketball, volleyball, videography, horseback riding, and playing a variety of instruments.


This homeschooled senior plans to spend her final year taking dual credit courses at Hillsdale College to prepare herself for a career in Aviation. When she is not working on assignments, Alanna functions as a student teacher for the younger children at New Life Homeschool Co-op. She plans to attend college to pursue her dream of becoming an airline pilot in order to travel the world and experience all that it has to offer.


Alanna loves Barbour County because it boasts such an incredible culture where children can grow up with an appreciation for nature while experiencing the steady support of a caring, hard-working community.


Alanna believes she should be the next Miss Barbour County because she believes that she is an incredible representative of Barbour County's caring and diligent culture. Being a resident of Barbour County has inspired her to always be aware of the needs of others and do all that she can to give back to those who have so graciously poured into her.
